Recreational Facilities

Stoney Ridge Park and Recreation Center

Stoney Ridge Park and Recreation Center is located at 1770 Fireline Road. The 27-acre property consists of two pavilions, a baseball field, tee ball field, two playgrounds for ages 2-12, a nature trail, and two basketball courts. Renovations are underway to the existing social hall for working public bathrooms. We encourage you to visit and use our beautiful facility. A lot of hard work has been put into making this recreation complex by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other dedicated volunteers. Call the Township Office, or attend one of the Recreation Board meetings to find out how you can help make our facility a better place. Any contribution in the way of your time, skills, or monetary donation is welcome. It has been a big task but with your help and continued support we can have a recreation facility for all ages. For more information regarding renting the pavilions, please contact the Township Office for a rental application packet.

Aquashicola Playground

Aquashicola Playground is located on Pine Street behind the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company on Little Gap Road. Recently, the Township was awarded a grant to make improvements to the Playground. We anticipate groundbreaking on the project in Summer of 2018 and a Dedication in the Fall of 2018. These improvements will enhance safety of the playground and beautify the playground for park visitors and neighbors of the area.

Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail parallels the Southern boundary of Lower Towamensing Township. The only access point to the Appalachian Trail in the Township is located on Blue Mountain Drive, near the Blue Mountain Ski Area entrance. Parking is located in the Game-lands Parking Lot in Lehigh Township about 600 feet south of the trail crossing.
