The Lower Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Lower Towamensing Township Municipal Building, located at 595 Hahn’s Dairy Road, Palmerton, PA 18071, to hear the following requests:

 AMPAL, Inc. is proposing to construct a ground-mounted solar array on property located at 2115 Little Gap Road.  The property is located in an I (Industrial) zoning district.  Section 450-102.D of the Lower Towamensing Township Zoning Ordinance requires Conditional Use approval for projects within the 100-year floodplain.  Conditional Use approval is requested which requires action of the Board of Supervisors.

 The Board of Supervisors will take testimony, deliberate and may vote on these requests at this hearing.  A full copy of this application is on file at the Township Office and may be viewed during normal business hours.

The Lower Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at the Aquashicola Fire Company, located at 270 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, PA 18071, to hear the following request:

 DTA Alliance, LLC & Murphy’s Meadow, LLC, for property located along Dairy Road, Fireline Road, and Golf Road, Palmerton, PA; Tax Parcel numbers #56-31-A34, #56-31-A36, #42-33-A24, #42-33-A25, #42-33-A24.01, #42-33-A21, and #42-33-A29, comprised of 700 acres (commonly known as the Blue Shamrock Golf Course & DTA Alliance Sand Quarry property) has filed a curative amendment to the Lower Towamensing Township Zoning Ordinance.  The curative amendment alleges the zoning ordinance is defective for its failure to permit a Data Center use anywhere within the Township, and proposes a curative amendment to allow for Data Centers as a use permitted within an overlay over the R-R (Resort and Recreation) and R-C (Rural Conservation) zoning districts.

 The Board of Supervisors will take testimony, deliberate and may vote on this request at this hearing.  The validity of the Township Zoning Ordinance is in question.  The appeal application, the amendment proposal, explanatory material, and proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, as submitted by DTA Alliance, may be examined by the public at the Township Building located at 595 Hahn’s Dairy Road, Palmerton, PA during regular business hours.
